The City of Fort Morgan (population 12,000) is the County seat of Morgan County (population 27,000). Fort Morgan was named for Colonel Christopher A. Morgan, who ironically never visited Fort Morgan. Some Famous people have called Fort Morgan home, like Glenn Miller (Big Band leader) with the hits In the Mood, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Moonlight Serenade, Little Brown Jug , Science fiction writter Philip K.
